Sukhbir Singh Badal resignation from SAD president news, Punjab politics today: In a shocking development, the senior leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal have passed a resolution in a meeting held on Tuesday to go to Sri Akal Takht Sahib and apologize for the committed crimes and mistakes.
It is being reported that Sukhbir Singh Badal might have to resign from the presidency as the resolution has been passed regarding the same. The rebel faction of the Shiromani Akali Dal is set to visit Sri Akal Takht Sahib and apologize for the committed crimes and mistakes by the party. Reportedly, the conflict has increased such that Sikander Singh Maluke has demanded Sukhbir Singh Badal's resignation.
According to information, a high-level meeting of Shiromani Akali Dal's top leaders was held in Jalandhar on Tuesday under the supervision of Gurpratap Singh Wadala, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Prof Chandumajra, and others. During the meeting, discussions were held on the falling principles and standards of the party.
Talking to the media after the meeting which lasted for about 5 hours, the top leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal said that from 2017 to 2024, the level of SAD has fallen, due to which they were worried. They have also decided to run the Akali Dal Bachao wave, under which, first of all, on July 1, they will go to Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and Sri Harmandir Sahib and bow down and apologize for the crimes and mistakes that have been committed.
Along with this, they have asked the party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal to also have the spirit of sacrifice to raise the party on that date. The Akali Dal leaders, though not directly, but in conversations said that Sukhbir Singh Badal should now resign from his post.
When asked, he said that, right now, he will put forward his point to Sukhbir Singh Badal and after that, he will take the next step.
