Sunil Jakhar Urges Action to Save Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s Life, Criticizes Political Leaders’ Apathy
Jakhar concluded by emphasizing the need for immediate and unified action to ensure that Dallewal’s life is not sacrificed in vain.
Sunil Jakhar on Farmers Protest and Jagjit Singh Dallewal Health Latest News: Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar has issued an urgent appeal for intervention to save the life of Kisan leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on a fast-unto-death protest. Speaking to the media, Jakhar expressed deep concern over the indifference of political leaders and farmer organizations toward Dallewal’s deteriorating health.
“It is distressing to see that no one has asked Dallewal to end his fast, not even the farmer unions or political leaders who claim to represent the interests of the people. His life is in grave danger,” Jakhar said.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Jakhar pointed out that even the Supreme Court has expressed concern about Dallewal’s health—a rare move that underscores the urgency of the matter.
Call for Collective Responsibility
Jakhar urged all farmer leaders under the SKM (non-political) umbrella to immediately engage with the Supreme Court, noting that their objective of pressuring the central government has been largely achieved. “Now is the time to save a life. I will personally attempt to convince Dallewal to end his fast, but this requires a collective effort,” he added.
Criticism of Political Exploitation
Jakhar criticized politicians who recently visited Dallewal at the Khanauri border, accusing them of exploiting the situation for photo opportunities instead of persuading him to end his protest. “These leaders are not serious about his health. None of them have even raised this issue in Parliament, which is a gross failure of responsibility,” he remarked.
Jakhar concluded by emphasizing the need for immediate and unified action to ensure that Dallewal’s life is not sacrificed in vain.
