According to information, Bharat Rashtra Samithi lawmaker G Lasya Nanditha was killed in a road accident on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Patancheru of Telangana’s Sangareddy district during the early hours of Friday, the police said.

Reportedly, the accident took place at around 6.30 am when  Nandita was returning to the city. Prima facie the driver of the Maruti XL6 appeared to have lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the metal barrier on the left side of the expressway. Due to the collision, Nanditha died on the spot.

The car driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to the nearby private hospital in Patancheru. His condition is reportedly said to be critical.

Who Was Lasya Nanditha?

Nanditha was the daughter of former BRS legislator late G Sayanna. She was elected from the Secunderabad Cantonment assembly constituency in the assembly elections last November. She had defeated G Vennela, daughter of revolutionary balladeer Gaddar.

Notably, the late G Sayanna was a five-time MLA from the constituency who died of illness on February 19, 2023. Later, the BRS gave the ticket to Nanditha since she had been active in party activities. Also, she was serving as a corporator in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation from Kavadiguda division.

Nanditha's Second Accident in 10 Days

It is pertinent to mention that Nanditha had recently narrowly escaped a similar road accident at Marriguda junction on February 13. Back then, she was returning after attending a public rally of BRS president and former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. In this accident, she suffered minor injuries. It was reported that a white car, with a drunk driver at the wheel, had rammed into her vehicle while she was returning to Hyderabad.
