Assembly Elections 2024: EC announces schedule and result date for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir

Assembly Elections 2024 in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir Schedule and Result Date: The Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar on Friday announced the dates for the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024 that are scheduled to be held in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. 

The CEC Rajiv Kumar stated that Assembly elections 2024 in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases wherein the polling will be held on September 18, September 25, and October 1 while the counting of votes will be held on October 4. 

Likewise, the elections in Haryana will be held in a single phase on October 1 wherein the results will be declared on October 4, CEC Rajiv Kumar said. 

In Haryana, there are a total of 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana, of which 73 are general, SC-17, and ST-0. Similarly, there will be a total of 2.01 crore voters in Haryana, of which 1.06 crore are males, 0.95 crores are females, 4.52 lakhs are first-time voters and 40.95 lakhs are young voters. 

In Jammu and Kashmir, there are a total of 90 assembly constituencies of which 74 are general, SC-7, and ST-9. There will be a total of 87.09 lakh voters in Jammu and Kashmir, of which 44.46 lakh are males, 42.62 lahks are females, 3.71 lahks are first-time voters and 20.7 lakhs are young voters. 

Notably, the Amarnath Yatra will also end on August 19 while the final voter list will also be published on August 20.
