Smriti Irani on Modi Government Achievement latest news: Ranchi, June 10, 2025 – Union Minister Smt. Smriti Irani today visited Ranchi for a one-day visit and, while addressing a press conference, asserted that the Modi government at the Centre has accomplished the "impossible" in its 11 years in power. She highlighted that India is now viewed with respect globally, and the "power of the tricolor has increased in the world."
Irani stated that crores of BJP workers and enlightened citizens, who have supported the formation of the Modi government for the third time, are feeling proud and extending their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She emphasized that the Modi government's development agenda consistently keeps the poor at its center. As examples, she cited connecting 50 crore people to the country's treasury through Jan Dhan accounts and directly transferring ₹45 lakh crore rupees to accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
She further noted that due to the resolve to overcome multidimensional poverty, 25 crore citizens have rapidly progressed. Additionally, 81 crore people receive "Annapurna's blessings" in the form of 5 kg of free foodgrains every month.
Irani credited good governance and efficient leadership for providing concrete roofs to 4 crore poor people (73% of whom are women) and extending tap water facilities to 15 crore households.
Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, she highlighted the construction of toilets in 12 crore poor households, which has protected the dignity and modesty of women and daughters. She also mentioned the Ujjwala Gas Scheme, which has provided smoke-free kitchens to 12 crore houses, alleviating the suffering of women.
Beyond welfare for the poor, farmer welfare has also been a priority for the Modi government, Irani stated. She pointed out that ₹6,000 annually is now directly transferred to the accounts of 11 crore farmers across the country through Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Comparing it to the UPA government, she said the country's agricultural budget has increased fivefold, with farmers receiving ₹3.7 lakh crore. She also mentioned that 25 crore soil health cards have been distributed, and farmers received ₹1.75 lakh crore under the crop insurance scheme. The limit of the Kisan Credit Card was also increased to ₹5 lakh.
Irani asserted that the Modi government has paid special attention to women empowerment. She cited the provision of permanent commission for women officers in the army and the enrollment of girls in Sainik Schools as meaningful efforts.
She highlighted that the first bill passed in the newly constructed Parliament building was for 33% reservation for women, a long-awaited provision. Furthermore, 4.25 crore accounts were opened under Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, and ₹18,593 crore was spent for lactating and pregnant women. Irani mentioned that 90 lakh self-help groups, run by 10 crore women, are serving 6.40 lakh villages, and women are now also becoming "Drone Didis."
Regarding the Covid pandemic, Irani stated that India not only saved the lives of its 140 crore citizens but also strengthened the idea of "world brotherhood" by providing vaccines to 160 nations.
She cited the recent praise from an opposition party's Chief Minister for the world's tallest railway bridge in Jammu and Kashmir as an example of the Modi government's "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas" (Development for all, with everyone's support) philosophy. Irani also mentioned "Operation Sindoor," which she said has revealed a new valor, courage, and patience among the nation's women, who are traditionally worshipped as Shakti, Lakshmi, and Saraswati.
She proudly stated that India's indigenous defense system is progressing rapidly, with the country's defense equipment exports increasing 34 times.
Irani concluded by highlighting works like the abolition of Article 370, the construction of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, and the Kashi Vishwanath and Mahakal Corridor projects as dedications to India's national unity and cultural heritage.
Reiterating "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas," she noted that 68% of the ministers in the Modi government belong to ST, SC, and OBC categories. Irani affirmed that the Modi government is dedicated to the all-round development of Jharkhand, along with the entire country. She added that the Prime Minister has ensured the all-round development of tribal villages from the land of Lord Birsa Munda with the ₹24,000 crore Jan Man Yojana.
She concluded by stating that BJP workers express their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet for rapidly implementing works of service, good governance, and poor welfare.
Also present at the press conference were Executive President Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai, State General Secretary and MP Aditya Sahu, and State Media Incharge Shiv Pujan Pathak.
