Raipur: Two naxals, who were allegedly involved in an attack on a police camp in Kondagaon district in Chhattisgarh earlier this month, were arrested today, police said.

The cadres, identified as Moti Ram Korram (27) and Baliram Kashyap (25), were apprehended by a joint team of security forces from the forest of Nedwal village under Mardapal police station limits, Kondagaon Additional Superintendent of Police Maheshwar Nag told PTI.

"Acting on a tip-off, the composite squad of 41st battalion of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and district force launched the search operation towards Nedwal, located around 250 kms away from here, and apprehended the duo," he said.

They admitted to their involvement in the firing incident at the police camp in Hadeli village (Mardapal) on December 6 by the ultras, wherein Head Constable Komal Khalko, belonging to District Reserve Guard (DRG), was injured, the ASP said.

"With their arrest, so far four Maoists have been held in connection with the firing incident," he said adding that efforts are on to trace other naxals involved in it. PTI
