The All India Congress Committee Vice President Rahul Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech in Gujrat. Gandhi stunned the opponents with his meaningful speech and lashed out at Modi for misleading the people of the country.
He said that the prime minister has failed on all these fronts and betrayed the people with hollow talks. He also criticised Union ministers and BJP leaders who defended Jay Shah, saying they should change the name of the government's flagship scheme for the girl child "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" to "Amit Shah ke bete ko bachao".
Gujarat is set to see a pitched battle in this year's polls as the Congress party is going all out to woo voters playing up the anti-incumbency factor in the prime minister's home turf.
Gandhi, in his Navsarjan Yatra, left no opportunity to criticise the BJP-led government's policies.
Slamming the BJP government in Gujarat over its claims of development, Rahul Gandhi sarcastically said, "I am going to send a letter to Guinness Book of World Records as for the first time 'vikas' has gone mad."
There is one Gujarati businessman, who no one can beat in the world. It’s not Adani or Ambani. It’s Amit Shah. Ask any Gujarati in the world if he can convert Rs 50000 into a Rs 80 crore business. Only Amit Shah can do it.”
Gandhi said in a scathing attack against Amit Shah over the media reports about his son’s company.
“The chowkidaar [security guard] of India is quiet, he does not like to speak on such things,” Gandhi said about Modi at a public meeting in Vadodara.
On Monday, Gandhi had said Shah’s company had risen “from [the] ashes” of demonetisation, even as other businesses suffered.
Taking a dig at Modi, Gandhi added, “Yesterday Modiji said, ‘I will finish poverty from Gujarat by 2022’. In 2025, Modi will send every Gujarat citizen to the moon; in 2028, he will give everyone homes on the moon. By 2030, Modiji will bring the moon to the earth.”
On the second leg of his Navsarjan Yatra in Gujarat, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi shook a leg with a group of tribals at Chhota Udepur district in Gujarat on Tuesday. A video, in which Gandhi is seen holding a drum and doing the tribal folk dance ‘Timli’, has gone viral on social media.
