Madame Tussauds unveild its first wax statue of Milkha Singh

Milkha Singh on Tuesday unveiled his first wax statue for the upcoming Madame Tussauds in Delhi. Besides this, many wax statue will also be unveiled. 

The figure of the legendary runner will be displayed at the sports zone of Delhi’s Madame Tussauds, where he will join other national and international sports icons in an interactive themed environment. 

“Milkha’s detailed statue was crafted from over 300 measurements and photographs, by several highly skilled artists from Madame Tussauds. 

It is sculpted in a spectacular sprint pose. This posture was chosen from his victorious win at the Commonwealth Games in 1958. Viewers are bound to be awestruck and will be driven back to this moment of pride, seeing Milkha Singh’s figure at the immersive zone of the attraction. 

The Madame Tussauds museum in Delhi will be inaugurated later this year and will have 50 wax figures of various personalities from India as well as world. 

“Apart from Milkha Singh, we will have statues of Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev from the field of sports. The new museum will have wax statues of personalities from sports, Bollywood, Hollywood and music. Statues of PM Narendra Modi, Subash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh apart from singer Asha Bhonsle, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan will also put on display. 

We will expand the list according to the inputs and suggestions by the audience,” said Anshul Jain, GM and Director, Merlin Entertainment India, parent company of Madame Tussauds.
