According to the reports, about 49 kids died in Farrukhabad due to disruption of oxygen supply at Gorakhpur’s BRD Medical College and Hospital.
The police arrested three doctors in this case following the death of 49 children within a month. Health Secretary Prashant Trivedi, however denied this reason behind the deaths and he said that perinatal asphyxia was one of the major reason.
The Director General, Medical Health, says there can be many reasons for this. It can even be blockage of placental blood flow. He said there was sufficient supply of oxygen at the Farrukhabad hospital’s special newborn care unit (SNCU) where the deaths occurred.
However,
FIRs were filed against the CMS, CMO and other doctors.
The FIRs were filed on the basis of the
magisterial report charging the hospital administration with violating
orders and submitting an incomplete and misleading list.
