Tragedy Strikes in MP: Five Workers Lose Lives to Suspected Poisonous Gas Leakage

MORENA: A Devastating incident unfolded at a food processing company in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, claiming the lives of five workers, including three brothers, due to a suspected release of poisonous gas within the factory premises. The heart-wrenching event occurred at Sakshi Food Products in the Dhanela village of the district.
According to Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bhupinder Singh Kushwaha, the distressing incident occurred around 11 am when noxious gas started leaking from a tank within the food processing facility. The initial exposure left one worker feeling unwell, and tragically, the toxic gas affected three more workers as it dispersed.
Swift action was taken as all the affected workers were rushed to the district hospital. However, despite the efforts of medical professionals, Civil Surgeon Gajendra Singh Tomar was forced to declare all five workers deceased. Their bodies were subsequently transferred for post-mortem examination.
The factory, known for producing food processing products containing cherries and sugar-free chemicals, came under scrutiny after the incident. The victims have been identified as Ram Avtar Gujjar (35), Ramnaresh Gurjar (40), Veer Singh Gurjar (30), Ganesh Gurjar (40), and Giriraj Gurjar (28), three of whom were brothers. The unfortunate workers hailed from Tiktoli village.
The district administration, in response to the tragedy, promptly evacuated the factory premises as investigations into the incident are underway. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his condolences and sorrow over the untimely demise of the workers.
