December 2025 Bank Holidays: December this year sees many bank holidays, including 6 Sundays and Second and Fourth Saturdays, depending on where you live. Bank holidays in certain states do not match those in other states.
Here is the list of bank holidays due to festivals and special observances in December 2025:
December 1 (Monday) – Banks in Arunachal Pradesh will remain closed on Indigenous Faith Day.
December 3 (Wednesday) – Goa will observe a holiday on account of St. Francis Xavier’s Day.
December 12 (Friday) – Meghalaya will observe a holiday on account of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma Day.
December 18 (Thursday) – Banks in Chhattisgarh and Meghalaya will remain closed on account of Guru Ghasidas Jayanti and U Soso Tham’s death anniversary.
December 19 (Friday) – Goa will observe a holiday on account of Goa Liberation Day.
December 24 (Wednesday) – Banks in Meghalaya and Mizoram will remain closed on account of Christmas Eve.
December 25 (Thursday) – Banks will remain closed on Christmas in most states.
December 26 (Friday) – Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Telangana due to Christmas celebrations, and in Haryana on account of Martyr Udham Singh Jayanti.
December 27 (Saturday) – Banks in Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed in observance of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti.
December 30 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Meghalaya on account of U Kiang Nangbah Day, and in Sikkim on account of Tamu Lhosar celebrations.
December 31 (Wednesday) – New Year’s Eve will be observed as a bank holiday in Mizoram and Manipur.
