An anti-encroachment drive was conducted near Khwaja Garib Nawaz Dargah ahead of the 813th Urs, news agency ANI reported on Saturday morning.  Security forces were also deployed in the vicinity. 

Anita Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, told the news agency that work is underway in the surrounding areas near Dargah, including Nala Bazaar and the parking lot inside Nizam Gate. 

“All the action is taking place around Delhi Gate. So, action has been taken to remove the temporary encroachments they have made, the ramps they have built on the road, etc. This action was taken last year as well..."

DSP Manish Badgujar, who was present at the site of the anti-encroachment drive, stated that the drive was being carried out in view of the upcoming Urs fair.

The police officer added that the municipal corporation team was demolishing any encroachments, whether permanent or temporary.

 “And for law and order, a police contingent is also available... This is the court area inside here, and the Tripolia Gate area. Now, moving ahead, we will head towards Nizam Gate and Delhi Gate, wherever there is encroachment. The action had started around 8 am," DSP Manish Badgujar added.
