BREAKING: Monsoon Covers Entire Nation on June 29, Nine Days Ahead of Schedule

Monsoon Latest News Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday announced that the southwest monsoon has covered the entire country as of June 29, which is nine days ahead of its normal date.

In a post on X, the IMD stated that the southwest monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and the entire Delhi region on June 29, 2025, thereby completing its advance across the entire nation.

β€œThe Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and Haryana and the entire Delhi today, the 29th June 2025. Thus, it has covered the entire country on 29th June, 2025, against the normal date of 08th July (9 days before the normal date of covering the entire India),” the IMD said in its post.

The IMD also shared data on past dates of monsoon onset over Kerala, and its advance over Delhi and the entire country during the years 1999 to 2025.

With the monsoon now covering the entire country, heavy rainfall is being reported in several states.

IMD Shimla has issued red alerts for several districts in Himachal Pradesh, while the national forecast warns of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today.
