Bengaluru Suitcase Murder: Latest Updates, Latest News: A 36-year-old software professional may have intended to dispose of his wife's body but left it in their rented room due to a broken suitcase handle, police suspect.

“The handle of the bag is broken, which may have led to the body being abandoned at the rented premises since it could not be carried down two floors,” a police source said. “There was a lot of mucus in the trolley bag, which suggests the victim may have been unconscious when she was stuffed inside and may have suffocated,” the source added.

The suspect reportedly attempted suicide and is now under the surveillance of Bengaluru police. The couple is said to have come from well-off families.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda stated that the initial probe indicates the husband committed the murder, with the motive being a “marital dispute.”

The Hulimavu police registered an FIR on Thursday night based on a complaint filed by Sanitha G, the owner of the house where the couple lived. According to the complaint, the accused, Rakesh Khedekar, called another tenant, Prabir Singh, and informed him that his wife, Gauri Anil Sambrekar’s, body was inside the rented house.

Sanitha said she received a call from the tenant around 4:35 pm on March 27, stating that Khedekar had told him about his wife’s body and asked him to inform the police.
