Artist Paralyzed in an accident created world record on a wheelchair

NEW-DELHI: A Kerala-based man from Dubai has scripted history by setting a Guinness World Record after creating the largest individual GPS drawing. The artist is Sujit Varghese. Sujith drove a wheelchair for 8.71 km for this picture created through GPS technology. He drew the slogan of a disabled man sitting on a wheelchair through his GPS drawing.

Sujith's entire life has changed after the accident. The Guinness World Records shared the video of Sujith passing on a wheelchair through Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall on Instagram.

Notably, Sujith was paralyzed in an accident. Even sitting on a wheelchair, the desire to do something remained in his mind. His passion and obsession towards his aim reached the point of breaking records.

Sujith Varghese went out in his wheelchair to take pictures. It had a purpose. The purpose was to convey a strong message. Using GPS technology, Sujith made this picture by covering a distance of 8.71 km on a wheelchair.

The picture holds the title of the world's largest GPS drawing. Sujith made this record on March 12. He created history by completing the distance of 8.71 km in about 77 minutes. Sujith said that the reason for this was to convey a message to disabled people. The message is that they are not weak and can do whatever they want.

Sujith also shared the news on his Instagram handle and wrote that his body was terribly aching with pain as he pushed the wheelchair to achieve his mission. He became paralysed in 2013 after a bike accident and started GPS drawing for utilising his passion for art for fulfilling his desire of exploring the world. He remained focused and determined as he wanted to send the message to those suffering with disabilities that disability is not the end, but the beginning of a new life. 

Sujith further wrote, "My disability was a part of God’s plan to help me give message and strength to those dealing with disabilities. I thank those who had supported and helped me in the journey of recovery, that helped me achieve this feat. People who have been through difficult phases in life, should not look for inspiration outside. Rather, they should look in the mirror for inspiration and acceptance."
