Congress Foundation Day: Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, on Sunday, said on Congress Foundation Day that the party strongly believes in equal opportunity in political, economic, and social rights, as guaranteed by the Constitution of India.
Kharge, in a post on his X handle, said that the Indian National Congress has “always worked for the welfare, empowerment and inclusive development of the people of India.”
“140-year-old glorious history of the Indian National Congress narrates the great saga of truth, non-violence, sacrifice, struggle and patriotism,” the Congress leader added.
“My best wishes to every Indian on #CongressFoundationDay,” Kharge wished in the post.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi; Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, Sonia Gandhi; and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, along with other leaders, paid homage to the founders and freedom fighters of the party.
Rahul Gandhi congratulated party workers on the Congress Foundation Day and said, “We pay homage to that historic legacy and those great sacrificers who won freedom for India, laid the foundation of the Constitution, and strengthened the values of democracy, secularism, social justice, and equality.” Rahul said in a post on his X, originally written in Hindi.
“Congress is not just a political party; it is the voice of India's soul - which has stood with every weak, every deprived, and every hardworking person. The resolve is to fight even more strongly the battle for truth, courage, and the protection of the Constitution against hatred, injustice, and dictatorship,” the post read.
