Akhnoor Terrorist Attack: Suspected Terrorists Attack Army Vehicles, Vandalize Temple

Jammu and Kashmir Akhnoor Terrorist Attack Latest News Today: In a suspected terrorist attack on Monday morning, armed assailants allegedly fired on Indian Army vehicles, including an ambulance, in the Jogwan area of Akhnoor city, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred around 7:25 a.m. near the Shivassan temple, with terrorists reportedly firing 15-20 rounds before fleeing the scene.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, though the attackers desecrated temple idols in Hassan Temple before escaping.

Following the assault, the Indian Army launched extensive search operations throughout the region. Authorities are on high alert as the area, known for past terrorist infiltrations from the Manawar Tawi River, has seen previous attacks targeting military personnel.

This attack closely follows an incident last Thursday near Gulmarg, where terrorists ambushed an Army vehicle, killing two soldiers and two porters while injuring another soldier and porter. Security forces responded with a large-scale search along the Line of Control (LoC) using drones, helicopters, and ground intelligence to locate and neutralize the attackers.

Authorities continue to monitor the region for potential security threats, deploying additional resources to maintain order and ensure safety in these sensitive areas.
