Weather Update: Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh

Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana Weather Rainfall Update: The weather of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh is continuously changing. Now, the India Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall in the two states and the city from March 1 to 3. 

Along with this, a yellow alert has been issued in 19 districts of Punjab while some districts have been issued an orange alert for March 2.

The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and lightning along with strong winds at a speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh will drop by about 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in the next five days.

All changes in weather will be due to western disturbance. Apart from this, in view of the yellow alert, the Meteorological Department has said that crops should not be harvested for a short time. If the crop has been harvested, then they should be kept in a safe place.

The IMD stated that light to moderate rain is likely to be accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning and gusty wind (speed 30-40kmph) at isolated places over Haryana on 1st and Thunderstorm/lightning accompanied with gusty wind (speed 40-50kmph) over Punjab on 1st & 2nd and over Haryana and Chandigarh on 2nd March, 2024.

Likewise, hailstorm is also likely to occur at isolated places over Punjab on 1st & 2nd and over Haryana including Chandigarh on 2nd with heavy rain at isolated places in Northern parts of Punjab on 2nd March, 2024.
