Prime Minister Narendra Modi late on Wednesday shared the news of the unveiling of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s bust at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, calling it a “fitting tribute” and a matter of “Immense Pride”.

“It is a matter of immense pride that today, on Constitution Day, a bust of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was unveiled at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. This is a fitting tribute to Dr. Ambedkar and his role in the making of our Constitution. His thoughts and ideals give strength and hope to innumerable people,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a post on his X handle, late on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, UNESCO responded to the Prime Minister’s post, saying, “Happy Constitution Day, India. We pay tribute to the legacy of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, marked today by a memorable unveiling ceremony at UNESCO Headquarters. “

Director-General Khaled El-Enany and UNESCO Ambassador Vishal V. Sharma were present during the unveiling ceremony.

Earlier yesterday, the Prime Minister, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and leaders across party lines attended the Constitution Day celebrations held at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan in New Delhi.

During the celebration, leaders read the Preamble of the Constitution, led by President of India Droupadi Murmu, followed by the national anthem.
