Fact Check Report: A Video is going viral on social media. In this video, some girls can be seen brutally beating a boy. This video is being made viral with a communal angle and it is being claimed that when a boy (Molestor) belonging to a particular community teased Hindu girls, then girls beat him severely.

Spokesman in its investigation has found the viral claim to be fake. This viral video is not recent but from 2018 of Baghpat, UP, when the girls of Dharam Singh Saraswati Girls Inter College had beaten up a miscreant named Kapil Chauhan. There is no communal angle in this matter.

Starting the investigation, we first watched this video carefully and started searching for news reports regarding the case through keyword search.
Viral Claim Is Fake
We found a report by Navbharat Times dated 10 December 2018 regarding this matter. While publishing a report on this matter, the title of the news was given, "See: ...when the girl students became manly, chased and beat up the molester in the school premises."
According to the news, "Fed up with the constant incidents of teasing while going to school in UP's Baghpat district, the girl students became manly and chased a boy inside the school premises and beat him fiercely with a stick. The incident took place at Dharam Singh Inter College in Baghpat district. This video of the beating of the boy has now gone viral on social media. The girl students also got the support of their teacher in this entire action. It is clearly visible in the video that three girls have covered their faces and are accompanying them. Their teacher is also there. These girls beat teaser with sticks with complete planning. They had closed the gate of the school before beating them. They beat the person who was teasing fiercely. Ultimately, to save his life, teasor left the school by Jumping off the roof and ran away."
The statement of Baghpat SP Shailesh Kumar Pandey was further included in the news. Shailesh said in this regard, "'We have taken that man into custody for questioning. Since it was Sunday, we could not complete his questioning. The school was closed and the girls or their teachers had not come. So we Couldn't contact him. We are waiting for the formal complaint and once the complaint is filed, the accused boy will be arrested."
From the information available till now, it is clear that the case is from Baghpat, UP and is of 2018. Now we moved ahead and started searching for information about the accused.
"The person seen in the viral video does not belong to a particular community"
We came across a report from The Quint regarding this matter. It was told in this report that the name of the person being beaten is Kapil Chauhan. A video statement of SHO Sanjeev Kumar was included in this news in which it was told that the name of the accused is Kapil Chauhan.
It clearly means that an old case of UP is being made viral by giving it a communal spin.
