Man Attends Gujarat High Court Proceedings from Toilet Seat; Video Goes Viral Latest news: A video of a man attending a virtual hearing of the Gujarat High Court while sitting on a toilet seat has gone viral on social media.

The incident took place on June 20, during a hearing before the Bench of Justice Nirzar S Desai.

At first, the man is seen holding the phone close to his face. However, when he places it at a distance, it becomes evident that he is seated on a toilet. In a shocking turn, the video also shows him cleaning himself and then leaving the washroom. He then briefly turns off his screen and later reappears in what appears to be a room.

According to Bar and Bench, the man was appearing as a respondent in a case seeking the quashing of a First Information Report (FIR). He was also the complainant in the original criminal case. As the parties had reached an amicable settlement, the court quashed the FIR.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred during virtual court proceedings.

Earlier in April this year, another individual attending Gujarat High Court proceedings virtually was seen smoking. In response, the court imposed a fine of rupees 50,000 on the litigant.

In a similar case, the Delhi High Court also summoned a litigant who was caught smoking a cigarette during an online hearing.
