Indian Railways’ RailOne App Hits 2 Crore Downloads Alongside New RailTech Policy Launch

RailOne, the new SuperApp from Indian Railways, has seen rapid adoption among passengers, crossing two crore downloads in less than eight months since its launch on July 1, 2025. In February 2026, the app also surpassed five lakh ticket bookings per day. Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), RailOne integrates multiple railway services into a single platform, including reserved and unreserved ticket booking, platform tickets, train schedules, and PNR status checks.

Officials say the app allows passengers to plan and manage their journeys more efficiently. By consolidating key services in one place, RailOne aims to simplify travel for millions of railway users across the country.

Indian Railways has also introduced the RailTech Policy and fully digitised the Railway Claims Tribunal (RCT) as part of its “52 Reforms in 52 Weeks” initiative. The RailTech Policy is intended to encourage startups, innovators, and institutions to develop new technologies for the railways. Through a dedicated Rail Tech Portal, users can submit proposals and take part in innovation challenges using a streamlined, single-stage process.

The policy also expands funding opportunities, with scale-up grants increasing more than threefold and maximum grants for prototype development and trials doubled. Officials note that these measures are expected to foster innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance passenger services across the railway network. Digitising the Railway Claims Tribunal is also projected to make claim resolution faster, more transparent, and easier for passengers.

With these reforms, Indian Railways is combining digital technology and innovation to make travel more convenient and responsive to the needs of its users, while also providing support to innovators looking to contribute to the sector.
