Find Aadhaar Centres Quickly: UIDAI and Google Make Access Easier for Millions

Millions of residents across India will soon be able to locate Aadhaar centres and access essential services more easily through Google Maps. The initiative, a collaboration between UIDAI and Google, aims to make enrolment, updates, and appointments faster, more transparent, and accessible to all citizens.

Launched in 2009, Aadhaar is India’s 12-digit unique identity system, serving over a billion residents and acting as a central tool for accessing government services, welfare programs, and financial facilities.UIDAI, which manages the system, has partnered with Google to ensure citizens can find authorised centres nationwide, along with information on the services provided at each location.

Residents will be able to see which centres offer adult or child enrolment, update services, and other facilities. Accessibility features such as disability-friendly infrastructure, parking availability, and working hours will also be visible on the platform. The initiative covers over 60,000 centres across urban and rural India, significantly reducing the time and effort required for citizens to locate Aadhaar services.

By integrating these centres on Google Maps, the partnership is expected to improve accessibility for disabled citizens, provide transparency in service availability, and bridge the gap between government infrastructure and residents. This digital approach transforms how citizens interact with essential public services, making the experience simpler and more user-friendly.

In the coming months, UIDAI plans to manage centre information through Google Business Profiles, respond directly to citizen feedback, and introduce appointment booking via Google Maps. Officials say these steps will further streamline Aadhaar services, ensuring faster enrolment, updates, and verification processes nationwide.

This initiative marks a significant step in leveraging digital technology for governance, combining innovation, accessibility, and convenience to benefit millions of citizens across India.
