21 Maoist Cadres Voluntarily Join Mainstream In Chhattisgarh; Hand Over Weapons Latest News: A total of 21 Maoist cadres, along with 18 weapons, have come forward to join the mainstream in Chhattisgarh, ANI reported on October 26, 2025.

The cadres belong to the Kuemari/Kiskodo Area Committee of the Keshkal Division (North Sub-Zonal Bureau), and the group includes Division Committee Secretary Mukesh.

Among the 21 cadres are 4 DVCMs, 9 ACMs, and 8 Party Members. According to the report, 13 of them are women, while 8 are men.

The cadres handed over 3 AK-47 rifles, 4 SLR rifles, 2 INSAS rifles, 6 .303 rifles, 2 single-shot rifles, and 1 BGL weapon.

IG Bastar P. Sundarraj told ANI, “...Another decisive step was achieved today in Kanker District as 21 more cadres voluntarily returned to the mainstream. This is a significant milestone in our efforts to curb left-wing extremist influence, build community trust, and promote peace and development in Bastar.”

“The rehabilitation and reintegration process for these 21 cadres is underway, reaffirming our commitment to a safer, inclusive, and progressive society. We once again urge the remaining Maoist cadres in the region to choose the path of peace and return to society, or be prepared to face the consequences," IG Bastar P. Sundarraj added.

Of the 208 Maoist cadres who surrendered in Dandakaranya, 110 were women and 98 were men. They included one Central Committee Member (CCM), four Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) members, one Regional Committee Member, 21 Divisional Committee Members (DVCMs), 61 Area Committee Members (ACMs), 98 Party Members, and 22 PLGA/RPC/other members, according to officials.
