Jammu Kashmir Weather Today: Red Alert In Most Districts, Very Heavy Rainfall Predicted

Jammu Kashmir Weather Today August 26 Latest News:  Rainfall continues to lash Jammu and Kashmir, and warnings have been issued for the next 40 hours. The public has been advised not to roam near any river in Jammu. 

Nowcast, Jammu Kashmir  Update August 26 (Valid Till 3:30 PM): The Meteorological Centre, Srinagar, has issued Red, orange, and yellow alerts for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting moderate to heavy rainfall in the nowcast.

Red Alert: Fourteen southern districts in the UT have been placed under a red alert in the nowcast predicting heavy rainfall in the state. 
Note: The predictions in the nowcast are valid till 3:30 pm this afternoon.

Orange Alert: The districts under the orange alert in the nowcast are Baramulla, Ganderbal, Srinagar, Pulwama, and Budgam. These districts have been warned of moderate rainfall. 

Yellow Alert: Meanwhile, three districts, Muzaffarabad, Kupwara, and Bandipora have been put under a yellow alert warning of light rain.

Himachal Weather Forecast for the Entire Day for August 26:
In the forecast, eleven southern districts are placed under a red alert warning of very heavy rainfall, while eleven northern districts are under an orange alert with heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and other adverse weather conditions predicted. 

Rainfall will continue in the Jammu division for the next 40 hours. Authorities have urged the residents and visitors to avoid going near any river as all rivers are swollen and flowing at dangerous levels in the region.
