19th edition of bilateral Exercise SURYAKIRAN 2025 Between India Army and Nepal Army Begins today

The opening ceremony of the 19th edition of the annual bilateral Exercise SURYAKIRAN between the Indian Army and the Nepali Army was held at Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, the Additional Directorate General of Public Information of the Indian Army said.

The exercise is scheduled to be conducted from 25 November to 08 December 2025.

Aimed at enhancing operational synergy, the exercise focuses on Jungle Warfare and Counter Terrorism Operations in mountainous terrain. It emphasises the integration of niche technologies to improve interoperability and facilitate the sharing of best practices.

Exercise SURYAKIRAN, it said, reflects the shared commitment of India and Nepal to global peace and security, while further strengthening Defence Cooperation, camaraderie and mutual trust between the two armies.Exercise SURYAKIRAN 2025
