Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced extension of the lockdown in the state till July 31 to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The ongoing lockdown in West Bengal was to end on June 30.
Banerjee, after attending an all-party meeting said though there were differences of opinion among the leaders, it was finally decided to extend the curbs till the end of July with relaxations.
West Bengal's Covid-19 death toll on Wednesday rose to 591 as 11 more people succumbed to the disease.
