Cash & Jewelery Seized during raid

BENGALORE: Lokayukta conducts raids at the houses of government officials in Karnataka in connection with disproportionate assets case. The Residence of BBMP officer Gangadharai's house was also searched. A huge amount of cash and jewelery has been recovered during the raid. Assembly elections are to be held in Karnataka on May 10.

The raid was conducted at the house of ADTP belonging to Bruhat Bengaluru Metropolitan Municipality in Yelahanka area of Bengaluru. According to Lokayukta sources, raids are also being conducted in Davanagere, Belari, Bidar, Kolar and other districts. A team of 15 officials is conducting raids at the residences of BBMP, ADTP, Gangadharai, Yelahanka and Mahalakshmi Layout. The team was headed by an SP, a Deputy SP and an Inspector rank officer.

Investigating officer headed by Lokayukt SP Umesh, CEO of taluk panchayat of Kolar district N. Venkateshappa. The properties of Venkateshappa are being raided at many places. Raids are also being conducted at the houses of an officer Hussain Saab in Belari and Bangalore.

Six houses and properties of Deputy Tehsildar Vijay Kumar Swamy in Bidar of Basavakalya, Anandnagar are also being searched. Raids are also being conducted at the residence of Executive Engineer Suresh Meda at Gurunagar in Bidar and office at Naubad. Along with this, Lokayukta officers are present to search the houses of Nagaraj and Tehsildar Nagaraj in Davangere.
