Telangana Tunnel Collapse: Rescue Operations Ongoing for Trapped Workers latest news: Rescuers are fighting hard to pull out eight workers those are get stucked inside telangana tunnel, portion of which collapsed on february 22 in the state Nagarkurnool district.

Telangana Minister Jupaly Krishna Rao on Monday said the chances of survival are near impossible and rescuing them would take atleast three to four days. He elaborated that the accident area is covered with muck and rubble, and it is very difficult to conduct a rescue operation there. "It will take three to four days to rescue them," he stated.

 

A group of rat miners, who rescued construction workers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand in 2023, has also joined the rescue team.

But Rao's situation was still grave. "To be frank, the survival chances of theirs are extremely, remote. Because, I myself climbed up to the end, short by hardly 50 meters (of the site of the accident). When we clicked pictures, the end (of the tunnel) was visible. And out of the 9 meter diameter (of the tunnel)—nearly 30 feet, out of that 30 feet, mud has accumulated up to 25 feet," he said.

The minister pointed out that even when they shouted the names of the trapped workers, there was no response, which increased fears about their condition. "When we shouted their names also, there was no response.so, there seems to be no chance at all," he stated.

The trapped persons have been named as Manoj Kumar and Sri Niwas of Uttar Pradesh, Sunny Singh of Jammu and Kashmir, Gurpreet Singh of Punjab, and Sandeep Sahu, Jegta Xess, Santosh Sahu, and Anuj Sahu, all belonging to Jharkhand. Of these, two are engineers, two are operators, and four are laborers.

The rescue mission is ongoing with crews working day and night to rescue the trapped laborers, pinning their hopes on a miracle under the extremely dire conditions.
