Delhi Police Arrest National-Level Shooter for Role in Multi-Layered Cyber Fraud Syndicate
The shooter has been arrested in connection with a fraud case in which the victim was cheated of over Rs 40 lakh.
Delhi Police have arrested a national-level shooter and medal-winning sportsperson who allegedly emerged as a key operative in a sophisticated, multi-layered cyber fraud syndicate.
The arrest marks a major success against organised cyber-enabled financial crime by the Cyber Cell of the Crime Branch, Delhi Police.
The accused has been identified as Himanshu Chauhan alias Shooter, a resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
Despite being a national-level shooter who has won silver and bronze medals at the National Shooting Championships and gold medals at state-level championships in 50-metre and 300-metre rifle events using a .22 rifle, the accused allegedly misused his influence and network to facilitate large-scale cyber fraud, police said.
The shooter has been arrested in connection with a fraud case in which the victim was cheated of over Rs 40 lakh.
“The arrest has been made in E-FIR No. 60000101/2025 (05/25) dated 25.06.2025, registered under Sections 318(4)/319(2)/61(2)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at PS Cyber Cell, North-West District, Delhi, wherein the victim was cheated of a total amount of Rs 40,27,098,” Delhi Police added.
