Christmas News: Congress Working Committee Member Supria Shriynate on Monday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over attacks on Christians in the ongoing Christmas celebration across the country.

Supriya Shrinate, in a post on her X, wrote, “Narendra Modi and BJP have stoked hatred all across India. During the beautiful festival of Christmas, which spreads peace and harmony, Christians are being attacked and intimidated by the right-wing goons.”

“Modi hugs the Pope for a photo-op, says he has an old connection with the Christian community. But random right wing bullies and some BJP functionaries are terrorizing people celebrating Christmas, yet the govt chooses to be silent,” the post read.

She pointed out the recent attacks on Christians in several states.

“Delhi’s East of Kailash: Goons intimidated and chased away women who had were wearing Santa Claus caps in the market, “ she highlighted.

“Odisha: A boy bullied and chased away a poor family selling Santa Claus caps,” she added.

Supria Shriynate added to the list the recent attack by a BJP leader on a visually impaired woman during a Christmas event in Madhya Pradesh.

“Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur: During a Christmas program for disabled children, BJP's deputy district president Anju Bhargav, after showing cruelty to a visually impaired girl, was heard saying, “You are blind now, and you will remain blind in your next birth as well,” the post read.

“The world is watching this targeting of religious minorities in India. And no matter what you say, Mr Modi, this is on you,” her post concluded.
