Air India has announced the cancellation of all flights to and from New York and Newark scheduled for January 25 and 26. The decision follows forecasts of a severe winter storm with heavy snow expected to hit New York, New Jersey, and adjoining areas on the US East Coast.
According to a post on X by the airline on Saturday, the weather system is expected to have a significant impact on flight operations from early Sunday morning through Monday.
Air India currently operates daily flights from Delhi and Mumbai to New York, as well as daily services between Delhi and Newark. Flights between Mumbai and Newark are also operated on specific days of the week.
According to the airline, the cancellations were made in view of the safety, well-being, and convenience of its passengers and crew.
