Republic Day 2026: A CCTV control room has been set up at Kartavya Path as part of the security arrangements for Republic Day 2026, ensuring tight security ahead of the celebrations.
According to ANI, over 1,000 HD cameras have been installed along the parade route to monitor activities in real time. Six CCTV control rooms have been established inside metal containers, one of which is located at Kartavya Path.
The control room is integrated with a Facial Recognition System (FRS), with criminal data fed into the system for real-time monitoring and identification.
DCP Traffic, New Delhi, Rajeev Kumar told ANI that a detailed security plan is in place. He added that a controlled zone has been created around the parade area, which can be accessed only by individuals possessing valid vehicle passes.
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, will be the chief guest on the occasion.
