Operation Sindhu continues Latest news: New Delhi: As part of Operation Sindhu, India has evacuated 311 Indian nationals from Iran amid rising tensions in the Middle East. All evacuees arrived in New Delhi on a special flight.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the special flight departed from Mashhad at 16:30 hours on 22nd June. This marks the seventh evacuation flight under the ongoing operation.

“311 Indian nationals arrived in New Delhi on a special flight from Mashhad at 1630 hrs on 22nd June. A total of 1,428 Indian nationals have now been evacuated from Iran,” the Ministry stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

In the images shared by the Ministry, the evacuees can be seen emerging from the airport hallway, waving Indian flags, one of them carrying an infant and with children, with broad smiles on their faces. The atmosphere was one of visible relief and joy.

They were warmly welcomed. The images captured the emotional homecoming, showcasing the success of Operation Sindhu in ensuring the safety of Indian citizens amid rising regional tensions.

The seventh  evacuation comes in the wake of a significant escalation in tensions in the Middle East, following the U.S. airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities.
