"Go tell this to Modi", Attacker’s Chilling Words To Survivor | Pahalgam Terrorist Attack

Pahalgam Terrorist Attack Today Latest News: A family vacation turned into tragedy on Tuesday afternoon when gunmen opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, killing 35-year-old Manjunath of Shivamogga, Karnataka. His wife, Pallavi, and their young son survived the attack.

Pallavi, visibly shaken, described the moment the assailants struck, as per the report by IndiaToday. “It was around 1:30 p.m.,” she recalled. “We were enjoying the meadow when suddenly there were gunshots. My husband fell right in front of me, he died on the spot.” She added, “It still feels like a nightmare.”

Local residents rushed to her aid, pulling her to safety amid the chaos. “Three civilians came to help me immediately,” Pallavi said. According to Pallavi, the attackers appeared to single out Hindus. “There were three or four of them,” she said. “I pleaded, ‘Kill me too, you’ve already killed my husband.’ One of them replied, ‘I won’t kill you. Go tell this to Modi.’”

Pallavi has appealed to both state and central authorities to expedite arrangements for her husband’s repatriation. “His body needs to be airlifted back to Shivamogga,” she said. “We want him home as soon as possible.”

In one of the couple’s final videos before the attack, they are seen smiling aboard a shikara boat, reminiscing about their previous night on a houseboat.

Reactions and Support

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the violence and offer support. “Kannadigas are among the victims of this shocking incident. I’ve convened an emergency meeting with senior officials and spoken to our Resident Commissioner in Delhi,” he wrote. “We are monitoring the situation closely and will extend all necessary assistance. The Government of Karnataka stands firmly with those affected.”

As investigations continue and security forces hunt for the perpetrators, Manjunath’s family and hometown await his return, seeking solace and closure after an act of senseless violence.
