Dubai Plane Crash: CDS General Anil Chauhan Expresses Regret Over the Pilot's Demise; Court of Inquiry Being Constituted

India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, along with all ranks of the Indian Armed Forces, has expressed deep regret over the demise of the pilot in the IAF Tejas aircraft crash that occurred this afternoon at around 2:10 p.m. (local time) during an aerial display in Dubai.

Confirming the fatal accident, the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, in a post on X, said, “General Anil Chauhan, CDS and all ranks of Indian Armed Forces deeply regret the incident in which an IAF Tejas aircraft met with an accident during an aerial display at Dubai Air Show, today. The pilot sustained fatal injuries in the accident. We deeply regret the loss of life and stand firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief.”

Earlier, the Indian Air Force (IAF), also expressing deep regret, confirmed the tragic accident.

“IAF deeply regrets the loss of life and stands firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief,” the post read on X.

It added that a court of inquiry is being constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Aam Aatmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal and LoP Rahul Gandhi have condoled the bereaved family.
