Himachal Pradesh's Shimla Landslide News Today: In a shocking incident from Himachal Pradesh, a five-storey building located under Gram Panchayat Ghandal in Shimla collapsed due to a major landslide. In the meanwhile, no one was been reportedly injured in this accident. 

Reportedly, a section of the nearby Dhami College building suffered damage in the Shimla landslide today and the news is all over social media.

Moreover, it has been reported that the five-storey building collapsed unexpectedly during the process of plotting. It is pertinent to mention that the Law College building was already evacuated a week before the incident. 

Himachal Pradesh is currently experiencing dry weather, with no rainfall apart from snowfall on various occasions. The incident of the building collapse during this dry spell requires thorough consideration.

Himachal Pradesh, situated in the Himalayan region, has been grappling with the persistent threat of landslides. Shimla is the state capital of the state and has been particularly susceptible to such geological hazards. It has challenging terrain, and steep slopes, and often witnessed heavy rainfall during the monsoon season that leads to landslides at various places. 

In August, last year, Shimla experienced a devastating incident in Krishnanagar, where a landslide claimed the lives of 2 individuals, and eight houses collapsed. The incident came as a reality check about the vulnerability of the region to such natural disasters. It also emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive strategies to eliminate the impact of landslides in Shimla and other landslide-prone areas of Himachal Pradesh.
