Maharashtra: 6 workers confirmed killed after a water tank collapsed in Nagpur

The death toll rose to six after a water tank collapsed at a factory in Maharashtra's Nagpur district, the PTI reported on Friday. 

The incident occurred around 9.30 am at Avaada Electro Private Limited, a solar panel manufacturing factory located in MIDC Butibori area, the official told PTI.

According to Nagpur Superintendent of Police Harsh Poddar, cited in an ANI report, the accident occurred while the workers were working on a construction project near the water tank at the Awada company, which manufactures solar panels. The water tank collapsed and trapped them underneath. 

Several people have been injured in the incident, and three of the injured sustained serious injuries. workers are currently undergoing treatment at various private hospitals.

Police and the fire brigade reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident. Further investigation is underway.
