Operation Vijay: Today marks an important day for the people of Goa, as 64 years ago, the Government of India launched ‘Operation Vijay’ to liberate Goa from Portuguese rule.
Remembering the freedom fighters, Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and Congress leader, wrote in a post on X, “On this historic occasion, we extend our warm greetings to all Goans (Goenkars). We proudly remember the freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices for Goa’s liberation.”
