PM Modi Andhra Pradesh Visit News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attended the birth centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, where he launched 'Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana' and released a commemorative coin and stamps honouring the life and teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi.
Addressing the gathering there, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Being present among you all today in this sacred land is an emotional and spiritual experience for me.”
Earlier today, the prime minister paid respect and obeisance at Sri Sathya Sai Baba's Samadhi.
“This birth centenary year of Shri Sathya Sai Baba is not just a celebration for our generation; it is a divine blessing. Even though he is no longer physically present among us, his teachings, his love, and his spirit of service continue to guide millions. Millions of lives in more than 140 countries are moving forward with new light, new direction, and new resolve,” PM said,
He added, “Shri Sathya Sai Baba's life was a living embodiment of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Therefore, this birth centenary year has become a grand festival of universal love, peace, and service for us..."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi further stated, "All our diverse spiritual and philosophical traditions ultimately lead to this one ideal. Whether one walks the path of bhakti, gyaan or karma, each is connected to seva. What is bhakti without service to the divine present in all beings? What is Gyan if it does not awaken compassion for others? What is Karma if it is not the spirit of offering one's work as service to society? PM Narendra Modi launched 'Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana' in Andhra Pradesh's Puttaparthi. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, actress Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, and former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar were also present.
“Today, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana accounts have been opened in the names of more than 20,000 daughters. This has ensured their education and a secure future. The Government of India launched the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana 10 years ago, focusing on the education of daughters and ensuring their bright future. This is one of the highest interest rates in the country, offering our daughters the highest interest rate of 8.2%. So far, accounts for more than 4 crore daughters have been opened under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and you will be pleased to know that more than Rs 3.25 lakh crore has been deposited in these bank accounts..." PM said.
