INDIA Bloc Announces Former Supreme Court Judge Sudershan Reddy As Vice Presidential Candidate News: The INDIA bloc on Tuesday announced its candidate for the Vice-Presidential election, scheduled to take place in the next month on the 9th.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while making the announcement, said, "All INDIA bloc parties have decided to have a common candidate; the decision has been taken unanimously. I am happy that all opposition parties have agreed on one name. It is a big achievement for democracy. "

Former Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy has been chosen as the their candidate. 

INDIA made the decision at a meeting held at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence.

The ruling has already announced Maharashtra governor and senior RSS  leader CP Radhakrishnan as their candidate for the post. 

He was born on  July 8, 1946. He enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh in December 1971. He practiced writ and civil matters in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Reddy served as government pleader in the Andhra Pradesh High Court between 1988 and 1990.
He also worked as legal adviser and standing counsel for Osmania University. 

Next, he was appointed a permanent judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court in 1995 and was later elevated as Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court in December 2005.
In 2007, he became a judge of the Supreme Court of India and served until his retirement on July 8, 2011.
