Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani to Appear Before ED on February 26
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued fresh summons to Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani, asking him to appear for questioning on February 26 after he missed a deposition earlier this week, according to official sources.
His wife, former actress Tina Ambani, has also requested adjournments twice and did not appear before the ED on her scheduled dates of February 10 and February 17. It is not clear if she has been given a new date for questioning.
The ED has called both Anil and Tina Ambani to record their separate statements under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Anil Ambani had earlier appeared before the ED in August 2025.
Tina Ambani is reportedly being questioned regarding a money trail linked to the purchase of a luxury condominium in Manhattan, New York. The ED recently arrested former Reliance Communications (RCOM) president Punit Garg in connection with the case.
The agency stated that the Manhattan property was “fraudulently” sold in 2023 during the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) of RCOM by Garg. RCOM had informed the stock exchange about the sale in 2025. The ED claimed that the $8.3 million (approximately Rs 69.55 crore) from the sale was remitted from the U.S. under a sham investment arrangement with a Dubai-based entity linked to a Pakistan-based individual, without the knowledge of the Resolution Professional.
On the directions of the Supreme Court, the ED has formed a special investigation team to probe alleged bank frauds and financial irregularities involving the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG). The agency has attached assets worth Rs 12,000 crore and filed three Enforcement Case Information Reports (ECIRs) against Reliance Group companies.
