Parliament To Honour Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, Here’s What Will Happen
The parliament is going to honor Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla through a special discussion on his ‘historic milestone’ and India’s growing space ambitions in our journey towards ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla returned to India yesterday after a successful mission to the International Space Station.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju took to X, Shared, “Our hero astronaut capt Subhanshu Shukla has returned home after a successful mission to the International Space Station. Parliament will honour him with a special discussion on his historic milestone and India’s growing space ambitions in our journey towards #ViksitBharat.”
Later on, speaking to the News Agency, ANI, he said, “We will discuss his space visit and India's space mission in detail. I hope that the way all the members of all parties took part in the discussion on Operation Sindoor, the same way all parties will congratulate Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla and Indian scientists and take part in this discussion..."
The lower house of the parliament will hold a special discussion on India’s first astronaut aboard the International Space Station- the critical role of the Space Programme for Viksit Bharat by 2047, according to the agenda released by the Lok Sabha secretariat.
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla returned to Earth on July 15 after completing the Axiom-4 (AX-4) space mission to the International Space Station (ISS). Following his return to Earth, he underwent post-mission rehabilitation in the United States before returning to India.
Shubhanshu Shukla returned to India in the early hours on Sunday. He was received by Delhi’s IGI airport by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and his family members.
Shubhanshu Shukla became the second Indian to travel to space and the first Indian in 41 years to travel to space.
Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla embarked on the Axiom-4 space mission on June 25.
