NARSINGHPUR: A Hindu spiritual leader and his disciple were killed and two others injured as their SUV overturned after hitting a divider in Madhya Pradesh's Narsinghpur district on Monday. A police officer shared this information.

Suatala police station in-charge Jyoti Dixit told PTI that Mahant Kanak Bihari Maharaj (85), who rose to fame after donating Rs 1 crore for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and his disciple Vimal Babu Verma were killed in a road accident. He said that the accident took place about 50 km away from the district headquarters.

Mahant's disciple Deena Bandhu Das (60) and driver Rooplal Raghuvanshi (35) were seriously injured, the official said. The injured have been taken to Jabalpur for treatment. All of them were returning to Chhindwara from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.
