Ranjit Jeeta Maur, kabaddi player later became drug lord, has passed away due to heart attack. latest news: Ranjit Singh Jeeta Maur, 50 years old, one of the well-known drug lords for his criminal drug empire, showy lifestyle, and enormous real estate investments, died last night due to heart attack. Maur was taken to a Jalandhar hospital, where he declared dead.

Jeeta Maur of Kapurthala's Kala Sanghian village was not well from few months. He had experienced swelling in the legs recently, and walking was painful for him. Despite failing health, the presence of Jeeta Maur was influential in real estate and drug sectors until he passed away in an untimely manner.

He was born and brought up in Kala Sanghian, Jeeta Maur gained international kabaddi fame before entering the profession of a realtor. He created a realty empire that extended across the Doaba and Majha belts with 70 to 80 colonies. 

Yet, his erstwhile business empire also suffered a downfall after he fell out with his business associate, Charan Singh, in 2018. Their rift saw them land into several legal skirmishes, and over 30 civil and criminal cases were lodged against him. In February 2022, Jeeta Maur was taken into custody by the Special Task Force in a narcotics case, which also invited the Enforcement Directorate to the scene.

Jeeta Maur's legal woes deepened in October 2023 when a court issued summons to prominent personalities, such as Ganieve Majithia, who is a senior SAD MLA, and the wife of Bikram Majithia, as part of the ongoing probe into his criminal activity. Charges leveled against him included money laundering, illicit drug trafficking, and illegitimate political connections.

A man of various business enterprises, Jeeta Maur had started at least four business firms, such as Great Green Build India Pvt Ltd, GGB Royal Developers Pvt Ltd, RBR Real Estate Developers Pvt Ltd, and KBC Transport Pvt Ltd.

His properties in Sultanpur Lodhi, Nakodar, Banga, Mukerian, and Tarn Taran sprawled over hundreds of acres, and his businesses were found to have the names of many senior IPS and PPS officers.

Also, he was accused of using his money for political influence and had been accused in reports of having given a Rs 15 crore luxury bungalow as a present to a former Congress MLA for reciprocation in his realty business.

His wife and four sons reside in London, Jeeta Maur's name in India will always be associated with the controversial and complicated life that he lived.

As law enforcement continues to probe his empire, the extent of Jeeta Maur's criminal ventures is yet to be revealed. The death of his era comes as an end to the infamous drug lord, but the consequences of his business and criminal ventures will most probably continue for many years to come.
