PM Modi on Israel-Hamas Conflict News: Addressing the international community at the Voice of Global South Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the loss of civilian lives in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, emphasizing the need for dialogue and diplomacy to address the crisis. The summit, hosted by India, serves as a platform for developing countries to share recommendations for India's G20 presidency.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted India's condemnation of the terror attacks in Israel on October 7, advocating for restraint and diplomatic solutions. He underscored the importance of unity among countries of the Global South in the face of emerging challenges, urging collaboration for the greater global good.

During his address, Modi disclosed that India had sent humanitarian assistance to Palestine following a conversation with President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian National Authority. He emphasized the significance of a collective Global South response to the evolving situation in West Asia.

The theme of "one earth, one family, one future" resonated throughout Modi's speech, as he called for a forward movement with the 5Cs – consultation, cooperation, communication, creativity, and capacity building. The Prime Minister urged nations to work collaboratively to address challenges and contribute to sustainable development.

Providing an overview of G20 achievements, Modi discussed initiatives unveiled at the first Voice of Global South Summit in January. He inaugurated Dakshin, a center of excellence focusing on development and knowledge sharing, and highlighted progress on a weather and climate monitoring satellite for the Global South.

The Voice of Global South, described as a unique platform giving a voice to developing countries, played a pivotal role in forwarding the concerns of the Global South during India's G20 presidency. Modi emphasized the success of the New Delhi leaders' declaration, showcasing unity on Global South issues.

Key achievements outlined by Modi included the inclusion of the African Union as a full member of the G20, major reforms in multilateral development banks, and a focus on sustainable finance for developing countries. The summit also witnessed the launch of the Global Biofuel Alliance and addressed the responsible use of technology in the era of artificial intelligence.

Heads of state and government from various nations joined the inaugural session of the virtual summit, including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth. The summit aims to facilitate collaboration among developing nations and address shared challenges for a more inclusive and sustainable future.
