Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, on Sunday morning, arrived at Kathmandu airport in Nepal, for a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Amrit Bahadur Rai.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in Singhdurbar today.
Later today, he will meet Nepali President Ramchandra Paudel, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal is also the leader of the main opposition in Parliament, and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, according to newsonair.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will hold delegation-level talks with Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai.
During the visit, the two Foreign Secretaries are expected to hold discussions on various aspects of the Nepal-India partnership, with a focus on connectivity, development cooperation, and other matters of mutual interest.
This is Vikram Misri’s second visit to the neighboring country since he assumed office in July last year.
The Foreign Secretary will return to India on Monday.
According to the government news portal, Nepal’s Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli is expected to visit India on September 16, probably in the Buddhist spiritual land of Bodh Gaya in Bihar.
