Jammu and Kashmir Doda Terrorist Attack News: In a shocking incident, four Indian Army personnel, including a Major-rank officer, were martyred after an encounter broke out on Monday night in Doda district’s Desa forests in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the sources, gunshots were heard between Uddan Bagi and Dheri Goth in the Dessa district of Doda at around 7.45 pm on Monday.
The encounter broke out after terrorists, hiding inside the forests, opened fire on security forces carrying search operation in the area. In retaliation, the security forces gave a befitting reply and the exchange of fire between the two sides continued for nearly half an hour.
In the meanwhile, it has been suspected that a group of 6 to 8 terrorists were involved in the attack, including foreign terrorists.
As part of the operation, neighboring units were also called, including 26 RR and 9 RR, alongside a special forces team, drones, and helicopters for the search operation. Likewise, additional troops were also moved into the area.
As many as five soldiers sustained bullet injuries after they chased terrorists into the forests. The injured soldiers were taken to the hospital. However, four of them later succumbed to injuries.
In a post on X, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s office said that he spoke to Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi this morning who apprised him of the ground situation and the ongoing counter-terrorist operation in the Doda.
