Delhi AQI Improves to ‘Moderate’, GRAP Stage-I Restrictions Removed in NCR
Authorities on Monday withdrew Stage-I restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan in Delhi-NCR after air quality showed significant improvement in recent days.
The Commission for Air Quality Management said the curbs, which had been in force since October 14 last year, were no longer required due to favourable weather conditions that helped reduce pollution levels in the region.
Officials noted that Delhi’s Air Quality Index stood at 119 on Monday, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category.
Forecasts by the India Meteorological Department and the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology indicate that air quality is likely to remain in the moderate range over the next few days, allowing authorities to ease the pollution-control measures.
