NEW-DELHI: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi took the occasion of Independence Day to share his profound experience during the 145-day 'Bharat Jodo Yatra,' a journey spanning from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. In a heartfelt message, he emphasized that Mother India's voice is representative of every Indian, transcending distinctions of strength, religion, history, and culture.

Rahul Gandhi conveyed, "(Throughout the journey) my beloved Mother India was not merely a geographical expanse. It wasn't a mere collection of ideas. It wasn't confined to a specific history, religion, culture, or caste... Bharat Mata echoes the voice of every Indian, irrespective of their circumstances. India encompasses the spectrum of joy, fear, and pain concealed within all expressions."

He added, "To truly hear the essence of India, I had to silence my own voice and desires. India speaks to those who genuinely listen, and only when silence prevails." Quoting the renowned Persian poet Rumi, who stated that words originating from the heart reach the heart, Rahul Gandhi underscored the deep emotional connection between individuals and their nation.

Highlighting his personal journey, the Congress leader candidly addressed a lingering knee injury from the past that flared up during the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra.' He shared, "Each time I contemplated halting, someone arrived to fortify my resolve to continue the journey."
